Privacy and Google, Yahoo, MSN - The Tradeoff?

In doing some work, I came across an article about privacy issues and how Google and other big names like Yahoo, MSN have huge amounts of data on the profile of its users.

In the previous article, I encourage people to use Google as a "Swiss army knife" while surfing. For all the questions that comes to mind, just enter some keywords into Google search, browse around the return of results, go back to what you're doing. And do not forget to include words like "crap" to get a feeling about what others May be speaking on the topic.

It is true that the more you use the tools and services provided by online companies like Google, Yahoo or MSN, we can more easily be molded to them ... And there's nothing wrong with that. Even your corner grocery store will try to have your needs as his client once came to his store several times.

S technology, however, more data can be collected and collated, and the speed with which it can spread across continents, is astounding. And like any good thing (are not we all one time or another, used to have at least one free Yahoo account, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.). Such data collected may be abused regardless of the privacy standards by the company itself. Disgruntled former employees may leak information, security can also be breached by crackers or persons may be worthwhile to offer such information. These can be events outside the control of the company and if it is true these things happen, good companies to take swift measures to rectify these.

how comfortable each of us feel about these companies collect information about us, while we are on-line depends on our sense of trust in society and it's not something that can be easily discussed over a cup of coffee. I quote from someone "Trust must be earned, it's easy to lose and almost impossible to get back ".

There are ways to reduce some degree of nudity of our online cleaning our your cache and cookies and surf behind a firewall. Just do a Google these words and add the word "Delete" or "remove ".

to accept the point is this - there is a tradeoff in all this. Do not we want to enjoy all the online services and benefits, without any disclosure of our identity, habits and preferences every now and then. Online e-mail can still be traced, online ID (IP address) is recorded, browsing habits while shopping online monitor. One such follow-up e-mail can be a necessary evil in the absence of a better word. Police work may be necessary to monitor people with a malicious intent.

Think about it - sometimes just a simple postage stamp is sufficient to reduce the enthusiasm for e-mail fan. Suppose you want to pen love poetry that you do not want anyone else in the whole world to see, unless your loved one in Denmark - then in all likelihood a simple postage stamp can do the trick. It is a question of balance again.

Enjoy the on-line services and still maintain some privacy not unlike enjoying VIP treatment in the Royal Suite with Butler (not one, but the team) are available. In the beginning you will enjoy benefits of treatment, those little touches here and there service - get your coffee and breakfast, your shoes, make your bed. However, May you begin to feel uncomfortable if you follow the butler to the toilet, hands you your soap, answers your Mobile, insist you change the lobster lunch, because you have cholesterol problems, or to predict what you want before you even I asked for it!

responsible on-line companies provide services transparently and always an opportunity for you to opt-out at any time. It is a question of trade-off while surfing. If you think that it is intrusive, then you say "enough is stop reading my mind. Click, click and double click on and off. Uninstall services ".

By the way, if you want to have an indication of how 'Butlers' are at your beck and call when you're in Windows, right-click anywhere in the bottom bar, click on "Task Manager" and see the services there.
